Zimbabwe is in meltdown !
In the mid-1990's Zimbabwe, located in the cone of Southern Africa, was the pride of Africa and was referred to the "African Lion" due to its GDP growth. Within SADC, COMESA, NEPAD and the African Union, Zimbabwe was a model of economic, success, tolerance and relative stability.
Today due to mismanagement of a poorly thought out land re-distribution program, poor fiscal policy, corruption, nepotism, personal interest of political leadership, lack of independent judiciary and enforcement of the rule of law, and many other bad decisions, Zimbabwe lies in ruins.
Inflation is in the triple digits, grain is now imported rather than exported, tourism is at an all time low, average life expectancy has dropped 15 years, even the basic commodities like food and fuel are very scarce, or simply not available. Hunger and poverty is now common even in the towns.
