Mission and Key Objectives

Mission:
To ensure long term preservation of democracy and sustainable economic growth in Zimbabwe.
 
Key Objectives:
 
1. Engage and Dialogue
 
  • Encourage open, transparent, non-partisan, and unbiased dialogue among all stakeholders and organizations both inside and outside of Zimbabwe, that stand for and uphold the principles of democracy and sustainable growth.
  •  
    Actively support and fund open dialogue between key stakeholders and the international community to stabilize and reverse the current economic crises and political situation.  
  • Provide technical and humanitarian assistance for relief, conflct resolution, security, etc.
  • Provide support to political refugees and ensure their voice is heard as well as that of the Zimbabwe Government.

 

2. Restore and Rebuild
 
  • Engage Zimbabwean stakeholders with multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors, civil society, private sector and academics in dialogue leading to the rebuilding of Zimbabwe and its long term sustainable growth.
  •  
    Facilitate connections for key Zimbabwean stakeholders to develop concrete and rational action plans in key government ministries, post democratic change.
  • Provide technical assitance for rebuilding, development, economic growth, capacity building, policy, good governance, trade.
 
3. Monitor and Improve
 
  • Monitor progress within Zimbabwe and give regular "score-card" reports of the post free and fair election performance of government
  • Work with government, ruling party and opposition to develop transparent action plans for rectifying any anomalies in the democracy, governance and sustainable growth "score-card" reports.
  • Provide technical assistance to government in meeting good governance goals criteria and meeting, for example MCA goals.
 
4. Promote and Inform
 
  • Vigorously represent the needs of all Zimbabweans including government, ruling and opposition parities, civil, cultural and religious leaders to the International community including the public, donors, national governements, private sector,  and civil society organisations such as non-profit and faith based organizations.
  • Represent Zimbabwean issues in global and US fora
  • Agressively promote trade and investment opportunities for, and with, Zimbabwe.
 

Funding for and from ZDDF
 
ZDDF does not disburse finances to any political parties or individuals. We do however utilize our resources to facilitate dialogue / action with any political party that is willing to engage in open and transparent dialogue, and agrees with our principles of democracy and sustainable growth.
 
ZDDF relies on funding and donations from private individuals, concerned partner organizations, donors, and income from our services. Currently, we are 100% volunteer based organization.
